Pupils Turned Away from Schools
Some poor pupils have apparently been turned away from the school gates this morning because schools aren't ready for them to return. Only around 50% of parents have decided to send their children back to school, and now some of these schools are not ready to reopen. These poor children must be so confused - as must be the parents. The schools should have simply remained closed until at least after the summer holidays!
Why haven't these parents been informed earlier that the schools were not ready to open!? I feel sorry for the children, they must be feeling very insecure.
That is just poor communication from the school's side. How could they let that happen? I can just imagine the talk and excitement on the part of the children knowing that they will see their friends again. Getting ready for school, laying out their uniform, or whatever they will wear the next day, getting the lunch boxes ready. My boys are 8 and 10 and they would be devastated.
And the poor parents, they were looking forward to a break from the little people after 2 months!
They were set to re-open next Monday. My husband and I were contemplating whether to send them or not. We thought we'd wait out the first 2 weeks, only to get a message from the school today to say the re-opening is postponed indefinitely!
@michelle I would have been so upset if I had prepared myself and my children to go back to school only to be told they are now closed. It makes you lose trust in what the so called experts are saying and in the preparations the schools are taking to keep our children safe.
You must be in Europe. We’re still waiting to hear if schools will even open in the fall!
